what each session covers
Passing the Torch
What we carry as parents, we pass on to our children. In this opening session, Tom Kearney will offer a big-picture look at the lasting influence we have as parents. Together, we’ll explore the lives of four parent couples in Scripture and consider how their stories can help us shape a lasting, godly legacy for the next generation.
Loving Children with Problematic Behavior
All kids misbehave at times—but sometimes, those behaviors are rooted in something deeper. In this session, parents will explore the many forms of trauma and learn practical tools to help children heal from traumatic events. You'll gain insight into the core reasons behind misbehavior and discover ways to respond with love, understanding, and intentional redirection.
Monitoring Screen Time
Screens are everywhere—and they’re shaping the way our kids think, feel, and grow. In this session, we’ll explore both the challenges and opportunities that come with screen use in today’s world. Parents will gain practical tools for setting healthy boundaries, along with insights into the physical, mental, and spiritual impact of media on children.
Teaching Your Children Tough Biblical Subjects
At some point, every parent faces hard questions about the Bible—especially from curious kids. In this session, we’ll talk about how to approach those tough topics with wisdom, grace, and confidence. You’ll learn a helpful mindset and practical strategies for guiding your children through challenging passages, and you’ll have the chance to ask questions about specific Scriptures that are on your heart.
Seasons of Parenting: Navigating Every Age & Stage
As our children grow, our role as parents evolves too. In this session, we’ll walk through six key stages of parenting—from infancy through young adulthood—and explore how our relationship with our kids shifts along the way. You’ll hear personal stories from parents who have walked these paths and gain insight into how God sees and guides us through every season.
5 Love Languages in Your Family
Learn how to recognize the unique ways your child gives and receives love. As you grow in understanding their love language, you’ll help your child feel more secure, reduce challenging behaviors, and create space for them to experience the love of Jesus through you.
A Disciplined Life
In this session, parents will gain a deeper understanding of God’s perspective on discipline. We’ll explore effective, Christ-centered methods and the biblical reasons behind discipline, while uncovering the heart of God in shaping our children. When discipline is approached with love and purpose, it can help cultivate self-discipline in our children, guiding them toward a life of righteousness and devotion to God.
Talking to Your Child about Sex
In a world oversaturated with sex, it’s only a matter of time before Christian parents will have to explain God’s heart on the matter. Pastor Phil Byars will close our conference by sharing practical wisdom, personal stories, and biblical insight to help you speak clearly and confidently to your kids about God’s design for sex.
